Samuel Vermeulen
Counsel
My work and qualifications
After completing my university studies, I undertook internships at leading international law firms in Amsterdam and was a trainee at the European Commission. After being sworn in as a member of the Dutch bar in 2011, I worked at De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek in Amsterdam focussing on dispute resolution. During this period I acted in dozens of construction and procurement law proceedings and cross-examined many witnesses in national and international arbitration disputes.
I have also built up a significant real estate portfolio in these years, giving me a lot of experience with conflicts with government departments, banks, homeowner associations and tenants. I love to litigate in court and I am considered by many to be a born lawyer.
Expertise (advisory, litigation/arbitration and regulatory)

Since 2024 I am no longer a registered / practicing lawyer at the Amsterdam Bar.

I graduated cum laude in law and history at the Radboud University Nijmegen and the University of Cambridge. In my spare time I manage a large real estate portfolio, practise yoga and meditation, travel and attend silence retreats. I have a strong affinity with India, where I spent time in an ashram as a child. I wrote an auto-biography with the title Prins van Liefde which was published by Lebowski Publishers in 2019.
